About

The Christian Ecologist is a publication, founded in 2026, committed to cultivating a sense of place rooted in discipleship to Jesus.

Following the teachings of Jesus and living out the image of God within us to name the creatures and relationships around us, the articles seek to cultivate peace in the world through attention the ecology around us.

To be Christian is to follow Jesus in the way of love and the way of the cross, sharing in his sufferings and, somehow, in the power of his resurrection.

To be an ecologist is to pay attention to the relationships of living things around you. The Miriam Webster dictionary describes ecology as “the totality or pattern of relations between organisms and their environment.” These relations include humans and all that we do as well as plants, animals, and natural processes.

It makes sense to be a Christian ecologist, and to apply the lens of love, suffering, and resurrection to the world around us. The articles on this blog will explore these connections and attempt to root the expansiveness of God’s kingdom as close to home as you can imagine.
